That's where our Genesis GV80 trim comparison comes in handy. There are four trims with the 2.5T engine: 2.5T Base, 2.5T Select AWD, 2.5T Advanced AWD, and 2.5T Prestige AWD. The final 2 trims are paired with the more powerful 3.5T engine: 3.5T Advanced AWD and 3.5T Prestige AWD. Common upgrades include interior materials, increased performance, additional technology, and comfort features. There is also the potential to add third-row seating with the 3.5 Advanced AWD trim, so it's a great time to think about your current needs in an SUV. What comes standard with all GV80 models?
Just because this is the base GV80 model doesn't mean it's lacking in great features. It is a Genesis after all. The GV80 comes standard with a 2.5L inline 4 turbo GDI engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. With a standard 6,000lb towing capacity, the base model GV80 has more than enough juice for most people. On the inside you'll find an updated 27" OLED instrument cluster that offers driving data as well as Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Seats offer plenty of comfort with power adjustment and heating for the front with a leatherette surface throughout. The interior styling is finished off with piano black gloss trim. Expected tech like a hands-free liftgate and wireless device charger comes standard as well. Overall, the base 2.5T AWD is a great place to start and might be exactly what you are looking for without breaking the bank. For current pricing on the 2.5T AWD, check our inventory now.
Favorite standard feature of the 2.5T AWD
While there are plenty of great features that come standard on the GV80, the 27" OLED Instrument Cluster & Navigation System has been a major addition to the GV80, creating a more streamlined style while providing better connectivity.
Why you may want to upgrade to the 2.5T Select AWD
The lack of a sunroof will stand out to some as a reason to upgrade to the Select trim. Beyond that, premium materials provide a more luxurious feel.
Genesis GV80 2.5T Select AWD

Upgrades for GV80 2.5T Select AWD
- Heated Power Tilt & Telescoping Steering Wheel
- Genesis Digital Key 2
- Premium Trim
- Manual Rear Side Window Sunshades
- 20-inch Alloy Wheels
- Panoramic Sunroof
Compare GV80 trims: Base 2.5T AWD vs. 2.5T Select AWD
Upgrading to the GV80 2.5T Select, in our opinion, is primarily about the fantastic panoramic sunroof. Stretching most of the vehicle, it adds plenty to the style and functionality of the GV80. The Select also adds higher-quality materials to the interior instead of piano black. This is a fairly transformative addition, creating a richer environment. Beyond that are some upgrades to the rim and some interior features. Overall, the 2.5T adds some nice creature comforts at a reasonable price upgrade. For current pricing on the 2.5T Select AWD, check our inventory now.
Our favorite added feature of the 2.5T Select AWD
It should probably come as no surprise that we love the panoramic sunroof. With the ability to actually open up, unlike many competitors' panoramic roofs, the GV80 has a nice functionality to go with the great view provided by the roof.
Why you may want to upgrade to the 2.5T Advanced AWD
The Advanced trim provides a better audio system as well as some seating upgrades. It also offers some driving features that make life easier.

- Leather Seating Surfaces
- Heated & Ventilated Front Seats
- Blind-Spot View Monitor
- Surround View Monitor
- Remote Smart Parking Assist
- Bang & Olufsen® Premium Audio
Compare GV80 trims: 2.5T Select AWD vs. 2.5T Advanced AWD
Audiophiles will be drawn to the Bang & Olufsen audio system that has additional speakers as well as a higher quality sound than the Select's sound system. The Advanced also has ventilated seating, which can make such a big difference in the summer, especially with the added leather seating. And the remote smart park assist, which allows you to get in and out of tight spaces without having to be inside the GV80, can be a game changer. Overall, the 2.5T Advanced AWD adds features that, while not necessary, add quite a lot to the driving experience. For current pricing on the 2.5T Advanced AWD, check our inventory now.
Our favorite added feature of the 2.5T Advanced AWD
It's hard to ignore the fantastic upgrade to the audio system. While we do appreciate the ventilated seats, the Bang & Olufsen® Premium Audio system adds a lot to the sound quality. A richer listening experience makes those long road trips that much more enjoyable.
Why you may want to upgrade to the 2.5T Prestige AWD
The 2.5T Prestige offers a more comfortable cabin and ride than lower trims. Upgrades improve the cabin for front and rear passengers and offer the best experience the 2.5T engine has to offer.

- 22-inch Alloy Wheels
- Head-up Display
- Power Cushion Extension, Bolster, and Ergo-Motion (Driver)
- Heated Rear Seats

- Electronically Controlled Suspension w/ Road Preview
Compare GV80 trims: 2.5T Advanced AWD vs. 2.5T Prestige AWD
The GV80 2.5T Prestige trim is all about an upgraded passenger experience. With the addition of Ergo-motion massage seating in the front and heated seats in the back, the 2.5T Prestige makes life comfortable for everyone. Add to that the ability to set the climate controls for rear passengers, and it just feels overall luxurious. Upgraded 22-inch rims with an electronically controlled suspension add to the passenger experience as well with a smoother ride. Overall, this trim competes well with other luxury SUVs for the overall features offered at this price point and will be a fantastic option if you want to maintain the better gas mileage of the 2.5T engine. For current pricing on the 2.5T Prestige AWD, check our inventory now.
Our favorite added feature of the 2.5T Prestige AWD
The front seats go from good to great with the addition of a power cushion extension and massage function. If you're looking for the modern luxury vehicle experience, this certainly feels like it should be one of the features included.
Why you may want to upgrade to the 3.5T Advanced AWD
One of the biggest changes offered from one trim to another is that the 3.5T offers a more dynamic engine, but the real reason to upgrade is the inclusion of the third row.
Genesis GV80 3.5T Advanced AWD

Upgrades for 3.5T Advanced AWD
- 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 Engine (375 hp / 391 lb.-ft.)
- 20-inch Alloy Wheels
- 4-Zone Climate Control
- 3rd-row seating (only for advanced trim)
Compare GV80 trims: 2.5T Prestige AWD vs. 3.5T Advanced AWD
There are two huge reasons to upgrade to the 3.5T Advanced trim, but not everyone will benefit from these upgrades. If you need a luxury SUV with a third row, this is currently the only way to get one from Genesis. Add that to the more powerful 3.5T engine that upgrades to 375 horsepower and 391 lb.-ft., and it almost feels like a different model. Overall, this is a trim that fits a more specific set of needs for buyers. If you don't require a third row, there are other options on lower trims that will probably suit your budget better. For current pricing on the 3.5T Advanced AWD, check our inventory now.
Our favorite added feature of the 3.5T Advanced AWD
This one is easy: having a third row is a huge addition to the GV80. The back row has a reasonable amount of room, making it a great option for families.
Why you may want to upgrade to the 3.5T Prestige AWD
The GV80 3.5T Prestige is absolutely loaded with technology and features. It does revert back to a 5-passenger capacity, so that is important to keep in mind when considering an upgrade.

- 3-Zone+ Climate Control w/ Rear Controls
- 2nd Row Vanity Mirrors
- Active Noise Control
Compare GV80 trims: 3.5T Advanced AWD vs. 3.5T Prestige AWD
While the GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD only comes with a 5-passenger capacity, everything else gets a big upgrade. 22-inch rims and a rear electronic limited slip differential provide a more dynamic ride. All passengers are treated to heated and ventilated seats. Additionally, there are small upgrades throughout the cabin that make life more comfortable. Overall, this is the top trim for a reason. It's loaded with everything you would want plus things you didn't know you needed. For current pricing on the 3.5T Prestige AWD, check out inventory now.
Our favorite added feature of the 3.5T Prestige AWD
While this may come as a surprise for a favorite feature, we are big fans of the heated armrest. It's not common to see on luxury models and is a nice addition for the winter months.
