Interior updates:   Right from the beginning, the Genesis GV70 proved to be a popular choice among SUV buyers. Genesis, though, is not complacent about its successes. Genesis has significantly enhanced the GV70 by prioritizing adding high-quality materials and an all-new 27-inch OLED screen. Adjustable ambient lighting showcases these unique materials well and makes the interior of the GV70 feel more unique. Available upgrades like the flat-bottom steering wheel provide a little more style as well. It's also apparent Genesis put a greater emphasis on the functionality of technology on the new GV70. If you have ever had any issue with previous updates in your Genesis, the GV70 now has an improved over-the-air update system. And their updated voice recognition features make it much easier to manage vehicle functions such as HVAC settings, window adjustments, and other controls. We believe the combination of technology and style features has taken the GV70 to a whole new level.

Technology:   If you didn't love the old, smaller infotainment screen and traditional gauge cluster, then the new GV70 update might be perfect for you. Instead, there's a big 27-inch OLED screen that stretches from the left to the middle of the dash. The right side offers all of your infotainment connectivity, and the left has driving information as well as the option to place your map. Genesis moved the wireless phone charging tray, making your phone easier to access, and a simpler knob for adjusting the volume can be used to manipulate the smart screen as well if you like to keep your screens smudge-free. We also love that you don't have to go to the highest trims to get the Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, as the sound quality is fantastic.

Seating options:   If you sat in some previous editions of the GV70 and felt they were a touch stiff, we recommend giving them another look with the new update. The seats feel more comfortable than ever and feature a host of great available features. Both the leatherette and leather options feel great, so you won't have to needlessly upgrade trims simply for the better material. Having said that, knowing which seating options are a must for you is a good idea. While all trims have heated front seats. Higher trims can offer options like ventilated seating, great for those hot Indiana summers. Fully loaded GV70 models even include a massage driver seat and heating and ventilation for rear passengers.

Cargo and passenger space:   The GV70 can keep up with the best in class for passenger and cargo space. At 37.2 inches of rear legroom, most passengers should have a solid amount of room, especially compared to many other luxury compact SUVs. Cargo space comes in at 28.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 56.9 cubic feet if you put the rear seats down. Let's put that in more practical terms, though. We estimate that you could fit 5 full-size luggage bags in the trunk space alone. The GV70 has a 5-seating layout that we would say fairly fits 4 adults. The rear middle seat, just like in every other compact SUV, isn't the biggest though. However, the GV70 is a surprisingly solid option for road trips so long as you are only traveling with 4 passengers or have 3 children in the back.

Design updates:   We wouldn't blame you if you missed the recent updates that were made to the new GV70, as they are more on the subtle side. The grille of the GV70 now has a redesigned G-Matrix Crest Grille, and the headlights, while shaped the same, now have micro lens array lighting that performs better than traditional LEDs while looking more streamlined. Both of these changes, while small, add a touch of refinement to the style. Genesis also redesigned the front air intake as well as the rear exhaust to have a more streamlined shape. Our favorite part of the update has to be the new style the new rims offer. While the old styles were by no means bad, we felt this was a welcome change to the GV70. Overall, the new GV70 is as good as ever and reflects the modern style that people have been looking for.

Standout features:   Both of the newly redesigned wheel options, 19-inch and 21-inch, complement the GV70 well, so you won't feel forced to upgrade trims for a larger rim. While most luxury shoppers have come to expect a hands-free liftgate, we appreciate that Genesis has made it standard across all trims. We don't love that the panoramic sunroof isn't standard on all trims, but it is at least added for the next trim level. Finally, while the power-folding side mirrors offer convenience, the Genesis logo puddle lamps truly feel luxurious.
